Kashmir Peace Conference & Awards Ceremony in British Parliament

London:Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement Europe organised Kashmir Conference & Awards Ceremony in conjunction with Kashmiri NGO Institute of Peace Development INSPAD in British Parliament Committee Room at house of Common Hosted by Luton South Mp Gavin Shuker who is very active in supporting the Kashmir cause as well as Shadow Minister for International development. Conference was attended by British Housing & Local Government Minister Kris Hopkins MP, British Minister Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Chairman Pakistan Parliamentary Group Andrew Stephenson MP, former chairman Lord Nazir Ahmed, Vice Chairman Lord Qurban Hussain, Baroness Zahida Manzoor of Dewsbury,vic chairman Kashmir Group David Ward MP, veteran MP Sir Gerald Kaufman,Jason McCartney MP,Linda Riorden MP,John Hemming MP, Gorden Birtwistle MP,Fiona Mactaggart MP,Kelvin Hopkins MP,John Cryer MP, Barry Sheerman MP,Khalid Mahmood MP &Host MP Gavin Shuker along with Raja Najabat Hussain Chairman JKSDMEU, Sardar Tahir Tabassum President INSPAD, Deputy Chairman Sabiha Shazad, Salar Mumtaz Ahmed Chishty, Sardar Tahir Tabbussam, Dr Z U Khan,Ms Sabiya Khan, Barrister Shazia Anjum, Rana Sham Nazir,Shanaz Sadique,Robina Yasmin, Nadia Chaudhary, former Mayor of Luton Cllr M Riaz But,former Mayor of Sconthorp Cllr Javed Ishaq, representative of Muslim Conference UK Columnist S M Irfan Tahir, Raja Zakir Kiani&Sardar Sohrab Khan, Mr Arshad Ahmed Malik Convener Social Democratic Party occupied Kashmir, former political Co ordinator PMAJK Ch M Shahban, Raja Nasir Khan, Businessman Raja Ashfaq Khan, Respect Party Leader Ch Arshad Ali, Ch Akbar Ali,Ch Azam Kothi,Haji Manzoor Boha& other women leaders & Kashmiri activists also attended and paid tribute to JKSDMEU team specially women team. Raja Najabat Hussain briefed the Conference that in Last six months we had meetings with more than 100 MPs, MEPS& Lords asking them to support for The Right of Self Determination debate in both Houses parliament as well as in European Parliament. Members of the Parliament who attended assured the Kashmiri audience that they will raise the issue at the highest level in government and their respective Political parties. British Minister Kris Hopkins said he will support Kashmiris in their freedom struggle but same time ask them be part of British political system to work with local community for the betterment of UK&Kashmir both. Lord Tariq Ahmad another Pakistani Origin Minister in his special praised the work of Raja Najabat Hussain &his team for raising the voice of suffering Kashmiris time and time in the parliament & in the community. He said Kashmir issue should be resolved as soon as possible because UN provided a base in late forties for India,Pakistan&Kashmiris to settle their differences in a peace full method. He said people of whole state of Jammu & Kashmir has right to by themselves and international community should support all concerned parties. Host Member of Parliament Gavin Shuker welcomed the guest and promised to Kashmiri Community for his full in raising Kashmir issue as well as his special role in sub continent as Shadow Minister. He thanked people of Luton for sending him in the parliament so he could high light the Kashmir issue. Former Shadow foreign secretary Sir Gerald Kaufman MP said he is commuted to work hard for freedom of Kashmir not only here in this parliament but where ever he went always raised Kashmir issue. He briefed about his trip of Kashmir Conference in Canada as well which was attended by more than five Hundred people from all over the World. He said he will not retire until Kashmiris achieve their Right of Self Determination. Lord Qurban Hussain said he has also represented Kashmiris in two different conference and explained about Human Rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. Baroness Zahida Manzoor CBE said that she will represent Kashmiri Women in the House Lords and also like to visit the both side of control Line to understand all parties point of view on the ground. Andrew Stephenson MP said as Chairman Pakistan group he has always supported the Kashmir cause and working very closely with Raja Najabat Hussain&his friends in Nelson as well as Kashmir group Chairman Andrew Griffiths MP. Ms Fiona Mactaggart MP of slough said she have seen Kashmiri women working for there brothers & Sisters in Kashmir Valley and she will work with JKSDMEU women team. She said she will encourage other women parliamentarians to raise voice for stopping Human Rights Violations in Jammu&Kashmir. Linda Riorden MP of Halifax promised to visit Kashmir soon. David Ward MP of Bradford East said he is committed along with his colleagues in the both House for full 3 hour debate on the Self Determination in Kashmir and stoppage of Human Rights abuses. Burnley MP Gordon Birtwistle said that he has signed JKSDMEU Kashmir petition asking for debate in presence of his constituency people and he will fully support with other MPs. All political activists men &women supported the movements activities in UK&Europe. JKSDMEU Women announced that they will organise an International Conference on 8th&9th July in European Parliament Brussels supported by all Party MEPs. Kashmir Awards were given to Kris Hopkins MP,Lord Tariq Ahmad, Lord Qurban Hussain,Gavin Shuker MP, Sir Gerald Kaufman MP,David Ward MP, Khalid Mahmood MP, Raja Najabat Hussain, Rana Shama Nazir, Barrister Shazia Anjum, Raja Ashfaq Khan by the international NGO Kashmir Institute of development & peace studies Europe by the Chairman Sardar Tahir Tabbussam. On this occasion JKSDMEU presented special Awards to UK journalists M Sarwar of Weekly Nation , Ms Razia Sultana of the Asian News, Raja Faryad Khan of Daily Ausaf and Mobeen Chaudhary of Kashmir Link and Chairman JKSDMEU Raja Najabat Hussain thanked all the Media in UK,Europe&Pakistan for Covering about the activities of JKSDMEU.
